M&Ms Cookies

This recipe is adapted from McCormick’s Vanilla Rich Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe – which was an advertisement situated next to a recipe for Almond-Orange Flan found by Grandma Mo in Relish magazine.

There’s no trick to this recipe. It’s your basic chocolate chip cookie recipe, no chocolate chips; sub M&Ms.

  • 3 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. cake flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/3 c. butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 c. mini M&Ms

  1. Beat butter and sugars in large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Gradually beat in flour, salt and baking soda. Stir in M&Ms.
  2. Drop by the tablespoon full onto ungreased baking sheets about two inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets, 1 minute. Remove to wire racks and cool completely.
