Grilled Asparagus with Rosemary, Garlic and Pepper

Updated 4.29.2018.

Tonight we had a guest chef in our kitchen. BF’s friend came up to celebrate BF’s birthday, which is tomorrow. Chef Dick Dexter cooked filet mignon and asparagus on the grill.

A lot of the dishes that BF prepares he learned from Chef Dexter, so it was good to see the Chef in action. Chef Dexter has worked in several kitchens over the years, and though the only kitchen he usually cooks in nowadays is his own; he can still slice mushrooms faster than anyone I’ve ever seen.

All Chef Dexter did to the asparagus before throwing it on the grill was drizzle it with olive oil and then sprinkle with rosemary, garlic salt, and ground pepper.

The asparagus turned out a bit limp and rubbery — a bit overcooked — but had potential.

The first time I tried making this on my own years later was a success.
