Saw a picture of these treats on pinterest.com and couldn’t resist testing them out. These are sickly sweet, even for the biggest Oreo lover of them all.
ingredients.
- 1 package Oreo cookies, crushed
- 5 c. marshmallows
- 4 T. butter or margarine
- Oreos to garnish
directions.
- Line an 8×8 or 9×9-inch square cake pan or baking dish with parchment paper. Grease with cooking spray.
- In a medium-sized pot, melt butter and marshmallows – stir to make sure ingredients are combined. Add crushed Oreos – stir until combined.
- Pour the contents into prepared pan. Stick nine whole Oreos evenly in three rows of threes on top of the Oreo mixture. Let cool completely. Cut into 9 even bars. Serve room temperature.
I improvised on this recipe (why use a partial bag of marshmallows??) and used an entire 16-ounce package of marshmallows, six tablespoons of butter and a package of (double stuff) Oreos. I thought these treats could have used more Oreo taste, less marshmallow. Dad thought they were terrific.
