Have you ever wondered how to make maple syrup fattier? No? Me neither. Turns out the way to do so, however, is to add butter and heavy whipping cream. I’ve never been a huge fan of maple syrup. As far as syrups go it’s my least favorite flavor. However, I needed a maple syrup something to put on my Elvis Impersonator Pancakes. And I thought a creamy maple sauce would do the trick.
ingredients.
- 1 c. pure maple syrup
- 1/2 c. heavy cream
- 2 T. butter
directions.
- Combine maple syrup, cream, and butter in a medium saucepan. Stir to blend; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and continue boiling, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. This mixture can boil quite high, so be sure to watch it carefully and reduce heat or stir as necessary.
Serve on pancakes, waffles, French toast, etc.
