Garlic Cheddar Drop Biscuits


If you’ve ever eaten at Red Lobster then I’m sure you’ll appreciate these biscuits which are supposed to imitate the biscuits Red Lobster serves before your food arrives.

biscuit ingredients.

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 T. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. onion powder
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ⅔ c. milk
  • ⅓ c. melted butter

garlic butter ingredients.

  • 2 T. melted butter
  • ¼ tsp. Oregano
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt

directions.

  1. Place the oven rack in the middle position and preheat to 475 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix garlic butter ingredients together in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Whisk dry biscuit ingredients with a fork in a large bowl. Add milk, cheese and melted butter with dry ingredients. Stir with a fork just until the dough does not stick to the sides of the bowl.
  4. Drop the dough on the cookie sheet two inches apart. 
  5. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly golden brown on top. Brush the melted butter mixture over tops of biscuits. Serve warm.

Makes 12 biscuits.
