Homemade Taco Seasoning

When I was growing up one of my favorite dinners was ground beef tacos. Made with store-bought taco seasoning. I cringe when I think about this. No longer being a huge fan of store-bought anything (when you can make something homemade), I decided to give homemade taco seasoning a whirl.

I loved it! This recipe reminded me a lot of the taco seasoning I knew and loved as a kid – only slightly spicier. Plus it’s way cheaper than buying it at the store. I’ll definitely be using this recipe over and over again.

  • 1 T. chili powder
  • ¼ tsp. garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp. onion powder
  • ¼ tsp. ground red pepper
  • ¼ tsp. dried parsley
  • ½ tsp. paprika
  • 1 ½ tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 ½ tsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper

In a small bowl, mix together chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper, parsley, paprika, cumin, salt and pepper. Store in an airtight container. Yields about 3 tablespoons.
